  • You can not view web pages or get email.

  • Chances are, your DSL router has lost sync with your ISP. The first thing to try is to power cycle the router and restart your computer. To do this, you turn the router off (some routers have an on/off switch, others you need to un-plug the power cord). Once the unit is off, you should wait 20 to 30 seconds (slowly count to 10). Now, turn the router back on (or plug it back in if you had to unplug the unit) While the router finishes booting restart your computer. Once the computer is ready, try going to a web site or getting email, if it still does not work please give us a call.

  • What can I use to read and send email?

  • Any program that supports SMTP Authentication. What does that mean in english - you can NOT use Outlook 97, Outlook Express 5.02 for the Mac, Eudora 3.x (or older) as well as Netscape Messenger 4.x (or older).

  • I will be traveling, how can I access my email while away from the office?

  • To access your email, you will need to use a web browser. The URL (the address) to go to is: http://webmail.alink.net
    The browser will need to have both Javascript and Cookies enabled. Also, you should be using Internet Explorer 5.x or higher, Netscape 6.x or higher, Safari, or Mozilla. Once the web page loads, you use your complete email address for your user name and your regular password. To get a current version of one of these browsers, follow one of the following links. Each link will open a new window for the download information.


  • I want to change my email password, how do I do that?

  • Although some programs have an option for changing your password, the only way to change your email password is by using the web interface. You will need to go to http://webmail.alink.net, log in using your complete email address for your user name and enter your password. You will then be able to change your password.

  • I forgot my email password, how do I find it or get it reset?

  • If you have forgotten your email password, you will need to call tech support to get it changed. (408) 387-5555
